YOUR OBJECTIONS ARE NEEDED!

The Royal Mail want to relocate two delivery offices based in Brighton and Hove to Patcham Court Farm located on Vale Avenue in next to the conservation area in Patcham Village.

How To Object

Many people reported issues trying to use the portal last time to register and place an objection

YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE PORTAL TO OBJECT

YOU CAN SEND AN EMAIL OR WRITE A LETTER TO THE COUNCIL PLANNING TEAM

Emailing Your Objection

You should email your objection to:

The principle planning officer is Ben Daines. His email is ben.daines@brighton-hove.gov.uk
You can also email the Interim Head of Planning Nicola Hurley. Her email is nicola.hurley@brighton-hove.gov.uk
You can also email their general email Planning.Applications@brighton-hove.gov.uk

Begin your email with "I object".

This is important because otherwise your letter may be taken merely as a comment by the planning department.

Every person able to vote in your household (over 18) can send an objection to the planning application.

You should include the planning reference BH2022/02232 and the details of why you object.

It is important not to copy verbatim reasons for objecting and write it in your own words. Duplicate content is likely to be less weighted when the planning officers summarise the objections for the Planning Committee members.

Once you have done this you should get an email confirmation at some point from one of the planning officers to confirm that it has been received from and added.

If you do not receive confirmation within a couple of days it is worth following up to ensure receipt.

As you are not completing their online form when you do it this way you should include your name and address. The planning team will redact this information before uploading your objection to the planning portal.

Handwriting Your Objection

If you do not have internet access your objections can be posted to the council for the attention of Russell Brown, Planning Policy Team, City Development & Regeneration, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ.

Again please include your name and address and the planning reference number above. Once received the planning officers will scan these and add them to the documents on the planning portal. Please remember to leave time for a posted objection to reach the Town Hall.

We will also have representatives who will be collecting objections for hand delivery. More details will be available soon.

Completing Your Objection Online

If you have an online account or wish to make one you can also post your objection directly onto the Planning Portal via the following link https://planningapps.brighton-hove.gov.uk/online-applications/

Enter planning reference number BH2022/02232 in the search box.

Click on Comments and then the button "Make a Comment".

On the planning portal there is a 2000 character limit but if you email there is not.

This link should also take you directly to the application:
https://planningapps.brighton-hove.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=REV1UTDMGC800

If you do not have an account we recommend sending an email as above.
